maxpayne framerate?

since there is no MP forum this seemed next best place to post this:

is there anyway to run timedemo benchmarks and/or get a framerate counter up? i tried -developer, f12 to bring down console and "showfps", "showfps=1" but couldnt work it out.

Max Payne is the best thing to happen to single player games since Deus Ex. It's not quite on the same level, but very very good.

Personallly, I love Max Payne.

Also, I do see a lot of hope for SP FPS's in the future, just look at RTCW, AVP2, MoH: Allied Assault, Duke Nukem Forever and Doom 3 to see what I mean.

played the mp demo thought it was kinda cool, im gonna borrow it off a m8 rather than buy it tho.

Deus Ex was so good im playin thru it again.

Really lookin forward to allied assault - hope it lives up 2 its promises.

Yeah, me too. The AA videos look pretty classy (LOVE the Thompson sound effects) but it does seem odd running around a WWII setting on your own. If there was ever a FPS crying out for squad tactics it's this.

There's a WWII Operation Flashpoint mod in development. I hope it gets finished. I'm betting that'll have a much better 'feel' than AA or RtCW.

Yeah it was a bit short tbh, it would have been a lot better if the levels were a bit more challenging the first time you play it as it didnt really seem that difficult at all, i know you open up other difficulty levels by finishing it, but half the fun in a game is the fact its all new, tbh i couldnt be arsed playing it again as the levels appeard all teh same.
