On that note I was playing Hitman once and by some amazing non-orchestrated fluke the stripper/dancer woman who I had chased into the toilet with my sawn-off (fnarr ooer missus) when cornered proceeded to drop to her knees to beg for her life...

...only it didn't look like she was begging from the camera angle.

Mouse Lag?

On a non screenshot note:

Does anyone get mouse lag? like, where you move the mouse and there is a noticeable delay before it moves on screen?

This seems to happen to me when i have trilinear/antistropic filtering and 32bit. I've toned that down now so the lag is less noticeable but it's still there. Thing is, on full detail setting it still runs perfectly smooth, just the mouse is fucked. I'm using an intellimouse explorer if that's important.

I'm on full detail now at 1024 and 16bit colour and it runs fine, mouse lag not very noticeable, but i'd quite like it at 32 bit and have no lag whatsoever.

Any ideas?

i used to get it on tfc
seemed to be my voodoo card
i upgraded to win2k and have never had that problem since

What I forgot to mention is that i'm sure it's a Direct X thing. I know this cos i get the same in CS in direct x, but it's fine in open gl..

Just thought I'd add a reply here to gloat that I managed to buy a copy of this game from the local "Budget Computer Games" shop for £24.99. I was rather chuffed, especially as the bloke behind the counter said he only got them in this morning. Dunno how he's making a profit...

I use opengl, seems better than DirectX on my pants Voodoo3.

Maybe a stupid question but you havent got smooth mouse on have you?

Just starting Chapter 2. It's not too bad but I find I rarely bother with bullet time. I just shotty them al the time :/

Its a Max Payne thread, take your HL stuff back to that forum.

MP doesnt support OpenGL, so anyone with mouse problems wouldn't be able to solve it that way.

wtf? There's an art gallery? Judging by the texture of the walls (!) I'd say it's on the last level. How d'yer get into it?

Also you can see the developer who's face was used as Max Payne's in the back row, third from the right.

It's a bonus level. You start of in permanent bullet time, and have to kill a horde of bad guys, you then walk through to the gallery, which has quite a lot of pictures. How did I get there? well, I erm...used the level selector widget thing.

Here's a picture for Embattle. It shows what should happen with the gas cylinders (hehe).

and here's 2 of the fighting rats. The lamp you have to shoot down is the unlit one above the wood on the floor.
