massage oils

dont know what experience you guys have with making up oils.

i currently have some lavendar essential, looking to mix it with sunflower oil

does anyone know can you use the stuff you can buy in a supermarket or does it need to be a special sunflower oil?

I wouldn't mix it with cooking oil. You're probably looking for specialist stuff from an oil/perfume store.

Try olive oil, it doesn't smell and any variety from the supermarket will do.

i assumed tbh that extra virgin sunflower oil would be ok.

its intention isnt purely for cooking at the end of the day.

because it isnt suitable!

the only thing i can get hold of is sunflower oil. and i am faiirly sure extra virgin sunflower oil is a suitable carrier.

but before i apply it and totally fuck someones skin up, i would like to know from someone who has.

Go to Boots, they do a whole range on essential oils and a specific carrier oil which iirc is almond oil, or simply buy almond oil - it's a suitable carrier for skin etc.

Lets be honest tris-, you're mixing up an ultra special cocktail for a thoroughly good lubed up wank session.

What are essential oils?

Essential Oils are the naturally occurring volatile oils obtained by distillation or expression having the characteristic aroma of the plant part from which it was derived. These 100% pure oils are neat, meaning they have not been processed or manipulated in any way with solvents or other additives. the carrier oil they sell in boots is about £4. it's a mix of grapeseed, jojoba, peach kernel and wheatgerm. it's really nice stuff

sounds decent. but i have to bear in mind alergic reactions. thats why im saying e.v sunflower oil.
whats the chances of those ingredients causing a reaction in the majority of people?

Almond oil is a very popular choice when mixing essential oils etc… and it's not especially expensive. Grapeseed is another in-expensive oil but imo has an unusual aroma. Jojoba is extremely expensive but fabulous for the skin.

in the end i settled for the one haarewin mentioned.

it doesnt smell of anything, which is ideal because i need the essential oil smell to be the primary one.
