Been fine here all day.
Many people have complained of Ld's and lag however - Whittled it down to a problem with freeserve - adsl users and dial up using there network. Prolly a little to do with excal, but as I said, been fine here all day - 3 green dots.

similar probs for me last night - bad lag, several LD's (which isn't normal). I'm on ntl broadband so I guessing it isn't just a Freeserve problem, maybe more of a trunk route to the continent issue... who knows... not I.

Most Likely Lessuri's fault... everythings his fault!! ;)

Same a Cal, on NTL Broadband, had 6 LD's in 30 mins, and when i was on had a 20 second delay from click to action.

My NTL connection at home is also buggered at the moment and I couldn't play at all last night :( On the rare occasion when I can log in, my packet loss indicator goes red after a couple of minutes at most, and then the server closes my connection due to an "error" :(

I've run loads of traceroutes and pings to excal (don't have the IP to hand to do the same from work) and the problem doesn't seem to be NTL (for once) but the packets start dropping like flies when you get to the opentransit.net servers. I have text files full of these logs but haven't yet been able to obtain an email address to send them to, either at NTL or at opentransit.

I too can confirm it was a freeserve problem.

The latency with them was terrible, and I am on ISDN!

I switched to BT (pay as you go), and it was fine.

NERF Freeeserve! :D

BT Openworld was playing silly buggers yesterday and the day previously...well, generally since the patch was unleashed. I did a tracert doodah and it looks like the problem is mainly over in europe.

Looks like someone needs to change the Server Monkey's food dish. :/

It Opentransit again, a French internet backbone, and not a brit / freeserve / BT / NTL problem, so b4 ya go flaming GOA, find the facts :p

In fact most of the time we get mass LDs or an inability to connect to the game its down to them!

contacted em

been on the phone with the admins of the freaky servers from opentransit.net

all should massively mail these guys and claim a moneytairy compensation, lol, they are draining our money cause their servers are incompetent >>>>evil grin

after a short conversation they told me i should mail em with information, if u need the infor, use a program called visualroute.
it will give u a full IP trace rout and the place where things go wrong, also an email adres for complaints, So start mailing ppl, don't let em rest

Yep, OpenTransit suck, its been the same damn router causing problems for the past 2 months! Will they fix it soon, not likely but there is little the players can do about it. GOA should really be speaking to OpenTransit and getting the problem sorted as it is beginning to piss a lot of their customers off, they chose them as their internet provider after all.
