Maps on the servers

When booking one of the game.net servers there are a number of additional maps available to add into the rotation.

Now I don't mean the epic pack or DE map pack but a number of others.

What I am getting at is has anyone collected these maps together and created a game.net map pack rather than having to d/load each map individually.

If thats what it takes then so be it. Also is there a way of recommending user maps to be included on the servers?

With that in mind, what would be the chances of other map packs for other games? STuff like MOHAA and Quake 3 etc.. would be great to have the server maps in one file for download.

All the maps installed on our servers are (or should at least be) available for download on our FTP server. In my experience, creating a map pack would be a bad idea, as we are regularly adding new maps at the request of customers.

I would be very interested in voting for maps myself and friends have found to be fun but I cannot see a section as to where I or my buddies can vote for maps..
Please can you tell me how to vote for the maps available on the Game.Net servers?

How are we supposed to get the gaming community into custom maps if we cant get them hosted? I look at server lists and I would say that 85% or more are all on default retail maps, so where is the point in mapping if no one gets to play them?

There seems to be no good way of getting custom maps up on a server so it has even a chance of becoming popular...

I am glad to see that you are willing to keep an open mind on this subject. The reason I brought it up is because I have only recently subscribed to your service and although I am happy with it, I have spent a long time downloading individual maps two at a time to use on your bookable servers.

I like many others are keen on the mapping community, but although I have downloaded a number of maps I only had one or two of the maps you have on offer.

You mention though that if there is demand for one then it may be a possibility, but with all due respect this forum isn't the busiest forum at the moment and I don't believe that many people would be willing to add to this thread in order to persuade you otherwise.

You have mentioned that you are adding maps at the request of customers, but I am still none the wiser as to how to recommend maps to you guys. I know of a few maps that myself and the UT2003 community love but don't know how to highlight these to you.

It may seem like I am unhappy with the services you provide, but that is far from the case. I have been most impressed since subscribing, but just think a couple of little improvements could be made to help us with custom maps.

To clear any confusion up, any customer may request a map to be made available on both our GAME.net Bookable servers, and also rental BarryServers. This is done by submitting a request via our support form, clearly describing what game/mod/gametype the map is for, and a working URL to the zip containing the map. Multiple maps are fine in a single request, but we don't support user created "map packs", only official / community created map packs.

With regards to the GAME.net Subscription/Community servers, these are "controlled" by our GameMasters, who are the liaisons between the users and our service. Therefore if you would like to see changes on those type of servers, you would need to suggest/request changes to them. Failing that, you can also use the support form method as a last resort, for suggesting changes to the Subscription/Community servers.
