Dont want to teach how to suck eggs here but i've come across a few people who dont know about map zooming. I've had people ask how do I put waypoints so precisely on towers when they just run in their vague direction hoping to find them.

Well in case you didn't know call up map and use your default zoom keys(mouse wheel for me) to take it in to insane detail level, all towers and their status eventually pop onto the map and if you take it further still it shows you friendly spitfires and mines as well.

You can also use the [ and ] key for your mini map, not sure if its the same keys in the big map.

Z and X for zoom in the big map.

Another good one is 'S', which removes the SOI graphic. I think 'O' removes hot-spots.
