Good show.

Not that i judge people for modding their boxes or pirating games, but selling them for profit is too much in my book.

  • "The man, who has not yet been named, was selling modified Xbox consoles, fitted with a 200GB hard drive and 80 pre-installed games, via his website for £380"
  • "It sends a clear message to anyone tempted to become involved in chipping consoles that this is a criminal offence and will be dealt with accordingly "
Doubt it was the chipping that got him convicted, more likely the piracy of the games. He deserves it to.:twak:

It was the Entertainment & Leisure Software Publishers Association, (Elspa) that made the case against him. So, why is half the article about chipping consoles which as far as I'm aware is not illegal to do. Same with chipping or modifying DVD Players to Multi Region.

Not an Xbox user but I thought chipping was just to allow the use of copied CD's etc.

Edit: just looked up the law, it changed in 2003 now illegal to sell or advertise chipping. Under EU directive. Come to Dubai they still sell em all here :)

I got my copies from a Virgin Megastore in Paris whilst there on a biz trip. Was impressed with all the posters up, proper promotion! Unlike the UK.

Never seen it for sale here in Dubai. However, you can get Star Wars and World of Borecraft from a number of stores.
