making movies?

looking to find out what is a decent computer spec to make decent movies?
atm my comp is a pretty pants spec but it does for now untill i can afford to upgrade in a few months

current system
AMD Athlon 1.49 Mhz processor
1GB DDR Ram
Ati radeon 9000 pro
20 gig HD

new system in few months time.
AMD athlon 64 bit 3000
1Gb DDR400 PC3200 RAM
ATI radeon 9600 XT ( maybe a 9800 pro , not sure yet )
80 gig HD

do you think my current system could handle making movies or should i just wait it out and not bother?

and pls don't say "HAHA you got a sh*t comp", cause thats stating the obvious i know what i have and haven't got.

Hell I live and breathe on film recording. You need - fraps. Pay for the damn thing so it unlocks - cheap. Sod it the booze is kicking in nastily - will continue soon.

Record your film with Fraps and edit it with Movie Maker 2 (get it off download.com). Can help with wotever after.

uppgrade, or new comp?

if new, keep the old and put in a video-in card. then record with Vdub
