I commonly use a procedure like this:
  1. Record in-game footage using a suitable program (like fraps or GameCam) or using a hardware solution (graphics card video output recorded by a video recorder, vidcap, DVD recorder, etc).
  2. Assemble your in-game clips using a suitable program (like Windows Movie Maker, Adobe Premiere, or Sony Vegas).
  3. Add music to your movie (most video editing software allows you to include simple MP3 files of your own choosing).
  4. Add titles and credits to your movie (video editing software usually have support for this).
  5. Render and compress the movie (sometimes in one step, sometimes you render an uncompressed movie and then use something like VirtualDub to do the final compression).
  6. Publish the movie for all to see! RPGFilms.net is a good free site for this.
Steps 2 to 4 are usually closely related and are not done in a sequential fashion. :)

you use fraps m8

example start DaoC in window mode
switch to desktop
start fraps program
go back to DaoC
press the hotkey you have set up for fraps(- in my case)
your recording your game footage(warning this eats up hard drive space)
press the hotkey you have set up for fraps(- in my case)
this will stop the frap program recording

hope that helps :drink:
