This doesn't really fit in any of the games forums, so I thought i'd stick it here in general.

Sid Meier And The 48 Hour Game | Rock, Paper, Shotgun

The article explains it all, here's the basics -

The Uni that Sid Meier went to holds a competition to make a game in 48 hours. Sid goes along to judge, and take part himself. (although his entry isn't judged)

It's a nice little insight into a man who has made some incredible games in his career, and this video has given me a new found respect for the man.

As it goes, I'm not a progammer, I just don't have patience, and even though some of the games shown are a little basic, again, due respect to the 'kids'.

That's pretty cool, and an awesome way to learn.

My uni did something similar - we had 3 1/2 days to spec, design, build and test a medium sized system, before demo'ing it to members of our local British Computer Society.
