Just wondering how u guys think catacombs etc will play on my new pc im getting in 2weeks.
I know its not overly amazing but it should do the job i hope.

Not a bad machine, I just orderd some components for a self build machine arriving on wedsnesday - yours pisses all over mine, bu then again i payed £508 for my kit and you payed a grand so not surprising really

You should ask them if they can put a 6800GT inside it instead since it has 16 pipelines and higher clock speeds also 1gb ram helps a lot too.That's of course if you have the extra cash but even if you do not, it's a very nice pc and would run catacombs fine i should imagine.

get more RAM, that's MUST! atleast one gig, and if you dont wanna upgrade.. go 1.5 or even 2 gig. It sounds much, but it'll so be worth it.

I dislike cordless, so go for the cheaper keyboard & mouse

Drop the TFT/LCD screen, for it's a bitch with gaming. 17" is way too much, resembles like a 19" 'classic' screen. Also, due to slower response time.. you can have troubles with gaming (more stripes with fast movement, or more blurred). It's cheaper, and if you have the room, why not?

I dont know what type of motherboard it has, but that's something which shouldn't be something low-cost. The better the mobo, the more expensive, but the better ur pc will handle all it's traffic.

just seeing this as a whole-packet, you cannot change things (?).. it's a nice thingy overall. I just don't know how much €'s 1000 quid is i think around 1500.. and for that, you can get a better (self designed) pc.

he he yeah. i was gonna build me own 1 but tbh i cba to deal with it atm.
and im almost totally skint all time which is y i left @ 512 ram and didnt go for a gig. i will upgrade ram ofc when i can afford it.
i only paying 500quid atm. parents are making up the rest and giving 200quid towards it for xmas then im paying them bck when i get the money. but its a hell of alot better than machine im on atm. so im happy anyway.
i know its not like the greatest but im happy with a good machine, which it is.
hell my brothers is about a year old now. and is a few grades below this 1 and his runs hlf life 2 fine. and daoc amazing compared to mine atm (even wit stuff up on full) altho he does have 1gig ram. so i think it should do the job.

also this machine got a bunch of good reviews in magazines cos its meanna be upgradeable for the foreseeable future so i wont have to buy whole new machine again when it starts getting old and decrepid. :wub:

Especially for DAoC, seeing how that b*tch juggles with around 800 MB of memory usage. I'm very happy with my 1gb of memory.

Well, until I hibernate my laptop anyway :/
(My laptop has a really slow harddisk, and when you hibernate it writes the physical memory to disk, which is 1gb of data if you have 1gb RAM)
