Hi

I remember reading about this when I started the game, but I have forgotten
all about it now.

Is there ANY dmg benefit from having more then +50 magic skill?
(In my case more then 50 body)

Hmm, more dmg or perfecting the template...

I now have a choice of adding some hits/con or keeping +5 magic skill
leaving me at 55 effective skill.
(I still got hits cap left so I can squeeze in some 40-80 hits in total)

If its that choice, go for hits/con/resists but if its like I got, 22+xx I need to SC in that to less the variance.

Depends on your playstyle really. If you generally play tower defence/spam or can rely on being in a good group with several tanks to defend you, and end up very rarely taking any damage, go +skill for the higher damage output. But the increase is significantly lessened over 50 and +skill is very expensive in SC points so if you have any need for more hits/resists I'd choose that.

Also, for all cloth casters, and I think all hybrids too, +hits are always better than +con, unless you have a pet and want the con to affect the pet's resist.

I have been thinking about that as well.

If Im not all wrong hits are cheaper to SC then con.

Anyone have the exact return in hits for every con gained from the top of their head?

From 2.8 hp per con point, to 4.5, depending on class ofc.

Thanks, now I just have to get my but home from work and start having a
look at that SCing.

I reckon my char is closer to 2.8 hits/con since hes a caster.

For a caster at 2.86 hits per con points it's actually almost an identical return per imbue point.

If other classes get more than 2.86 hits per con point, then con will be 'cheaper' to SC

Since I only need to switch out one or two pieces it should not be to hard for me to test this in RvR and see if there is any notable difference.

I just have to get that SCing done, and frankly, its sooooooooooo boring. :(

Always thought magic damage was increased by 0.5% per point over 50 on spec nukes (ie 60 total skill = 5% extra damage). Never ever seriously tested it though.

Would take about 20s to check on my bb so mebbe it's about time I did :).

/edit that's in RvR, I believe in PvE it also effects the chance of a spell being resisted on mobs with a lvl under ur total spec. If it's not true, it's certainly a very old rumour.
