I've heard this song a few times, well ok quite a few times due to Capital 95.8s lame inability to change CDs, and I find that the current version is no way as good as the original by Tears for Fears, this only in my opinion though.............oh and on that note its time to kill the Cheeky Girls ;)

Tears For Fears were fantastic back in the day. I think the Gary Jules cover is great as it's own song but of course the original is fab :)

I'm not a huge TFF fan but I like what I've heard, but the original of Mad World doesn't do it for me. Gary Jules' version does it for me. Lots. Perhaps it's the Donnie Darko thing though.

Watch TOTP did you Embattle? :)

The gary jules version is old and boring. The words are still pap and it makes me want to sleep.

I quite like this new version.

Although after a while you do start to look around for a razor blade...

And yes the Cheeky Girls should be shipped back to Transylvania...

The Cheeky Girls are great.

First you hear them and think 'fuck off!'
Then see them and think 'I'd do em'
Then you see them close up and think 'ew! mingers!'
Then you think more about them and think 'actually I'd still do em'
Then you realise you've probably just thought more about the Cheeky Girls than you have the last decent music act you heard :(

Long live the Cheeky Girls!

A friend of mine described it as 'That r.e.m sounding sad song'.

Quite discriptive really.

I quite liked it when I first heard it when I watched donnie darko but after radio 1 got hold of it and abused it I now hate it and don't think it should be christmas number one at all because now in years to come it'll be on xmas compilation albums and it won't feel like xmas.
