Can the eldars of the boards educate me on this one -

I recently forked out meh entire Daoc savings on various scrolls and artifacts - Tartaros gift etc ....

Now help me here on this - Tartoros Gift scroll 3 of 3 sells for roughly 7plat which is what I got on the cm - Now that scroll is hard enough to farm - mobs are hard to get at in Volcanus etc but how are the Mad scaller scrolls 15 platnum and 20 platnum when they drop of the shite easy taurens and not the hard ones tartaros need ?

The mob that drop the scallers scrolls - Me and an animist and a lvl 46 bard with no Fop owned and at the time my chanter was only 47 - Tartaros was a different story so why are the prices so high ?

Is this player greed or is this the actual rough worth ?

uuh.. i dunno what tartarous 3/3 drops from.. but i got it from something i killed solo just for fun atleast!

and theres alot more ppl that use mad scalar then there is for tartarous staff

You called Im farming mad tales 3/3 atm, I cant remember where I got my tart 3/3 from, but it was easy compared to mad tales.

Ever fought a taur telete solo? Purple to 50, DD, sprint/kite ability, a squilion hit points, there arent may classes that can farm them even with buffs and the pop rate on them and taur phophorus is terrible, try farming them and 1/5 taurs will be the right type to drop... Better off in ml7 dungeon, but then you need a ml3 group and im getting tired of losing the /random

But basically as Kaor says its a supply and demand thing. you gotta ask yourself, how many classes use these artifacts. Loads use scalars, so everyone wants one, and only a few magicians want tartaros as opposed (or as well as) traldors.

Tartaros 3/3 don't 'sell' for 7 plat, that scroll has been there forever. Noone in their right mind would pay anything remotely close for such easy scroll.

On CM for aint the same as worth.

This is a good point, i often see crappy scrolls for sale for rediculous prices that have been on the CM since ToA release and forgotten about.

A scroll is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it, if you are desperate and dont want to/cant farm it then you may well have to pay a high price, but thats economics for ya.
