I believe Emb had worked that out all on his own. I believe that he was referring to the fact the the clan has a French name. That would lead one to assume that the clan was French, and therefore going out earlier than expected.

I have read numerous sources that have posted the number of people speaking English as a native language at over 350m, and people speaking it as a second language as usually between 400 and 500m. I think either your source is wrong, or is out of date. Either way, you should not trust just one, especially on the internet.
