People apply to be admins Moon... it comes with benefits like leet BW IRC bouncers and general recognition from your peers.... arent half of A&I admins or one sort or another? My point was if any admin finds his online life taken up with a myriad of trivial issues, then moaning at genuine Barrysworld regulars that have played on BW servers since online gaming came into the mainstream... then perhaps they need to step back and hang up there admin boots. That was all.

If admins ever got paid for incidents such as banning 56k players based on 10 seconds of feable evidence, I'm sure I dont know where their wages would actually come from. Certainly not from people populating their servers....

For months people have been asking about a hpb only server and BW have finally relented.

Granted, I would have liked to see some additional features like autokick for low ping but I am NOT complaining.

If a lpb joins - as him nicely to leave and explain WHY.

If he doesnt you have 3 choices.

1. Go get an admin
2. Keep playing.
3. Find another server.

One point that was raised earlier in the thread about an hpb only server taking available slots away from lpbs - not true. The hpbs are on that server and not some OTHER server which leaves the slots available for other players.

So can we lighten up, enjoy our game and say Thanks for at least setting up a HPB server

been there and I know the feeling with 56k. Maybe something like a vote kick admin mod type thing might be worth asking for but maoning about what admins should and shouldnt do imo aint the way to go about it .

lol also talkin about FPS Rates, when i used Netgraph on my new Asus GeForce one helluva Priced Card, i only got 60FPS at all times, where my 30 quid card got the same, but i was told a Voodoo Card got 70... which left me pissed off lol

As for the HPW server, i think its a good idea for the people who feel ping effects their game against LPB's. However i feel there should be an automated control to keep LPB's out (and no i dont know the logistics of implementing this but im sure its a c*** to do). I was playing a server which gave you a warning if your ping dropped below 100 and kicked you if it dropped again (again i have no idea how it was done) but it seems there are some lame LPB's out there who must not be able to cut it on the rest of the servers. The best suggestion for the minute is pop in to #bwadmins on quakenet irc and get a CS admin.
I'm a LPB but I enjoy kicking LPB's from the HPW server, because they should not be there taking advantage of the less fortunate then myself

Anyway, i dont know about you but im bored reading this so im gonna stop.

Firstly you weren't banned for "no reason" and its damn funny you say that because thats what everybody still says whenever a ban is added against them (that or "it was my brother"). I don't ban anybody until I feel its valid to do so. Also I decided not to throw your WonID in the hat for a permaban, which so does not equate to you getting the ban lifted.

Quite frankly your reactions just show you up as belonging to the childish side of the CS community, the side that ruins CS gameplay (the only good thing left after the shite coding). If you want to name call go back to your nearest playground.

Yesterday I had a quite serious request:

"Could you see into setting up a medium band server? I'n not broadband but im not a 56ker, ISDN only gets 3 k a sec in/out whereas broadband gets 4-5 in/out. they see me well ebfore I see them."

Does anyone not see who utterly ridiculous this is? It's almost as bad as the argument for a 56k server in the first place. It shows you cant plase everyone and someone will always moan.

does that setting actually do anything? I just checked my cfg and its set to 0
My FPS is 99+ (depending on where you look, netgraph or cl_showfps 1)


and Sup, what GFX cards have you got? is the nice new shiney replacement the same "generation" of card as the old one ie. a Gefarce2mx or something?
Just because its a branded card doesnt make it any better then a non-branded unless your into OC'ing the thing
Hardly any manufacturers alter the design so one geforce card is much the same as another adn hence why you get the same FPS - should have changed your CPU - more poweh more fps

omg you lucky people, my PC will handle 100fps easily but my new budget monitor now wont let me go any higher than 60hz without it turning into a nice full screen dithered affect
