LPB's in 56k only

Finally getting rid of the old wet string with a plastic cup on each end then lilz, its a lurvly experience going from 56k to broadband

If I remember correctly the vote percent was set to 100, so voting isnt technically disabled, but would require the person being voted to vote themselves.

Some 56kers do react quite hostile to some broadbanders.

A mate of mine followed me onto the 56k server (he was a broadband) by following my mirc script (you know, the ones that tells everyone what server you are playing on).

He just followed that and then recieved a round of abuse, ofc he did politely leave, excusing himself for not realising his mistake.

Sometimes its best to just explain that they are doing wrong by being on the server, and that they shouldn't be here. Chances are, if a lpb comes on the 56k server they are there to get some easy frags and piss off as many people as humanely possible. If you show that you are pissed off, they have already achieved one of them goals, and the majority will stay there because they realise that someone somewhere is getting into one big fuss over them.

Head swell I know, but what you expect from someone aged 15 or below?

LPB's takin the piss

Hi guys me again,

Still havin severe probs with the LPb's Just had 2 came in on the same team so no chance of votin them out both in the same clan.
When we asked them politely 2 leave they just took the piss and basically told us 2 go fuck ourselves. Thsi is gettin a bit out of hand now these guys r comin in just 2 take the piss out of us. pleez pleez can somethin be done????:

nothing can be done, until an admin knows about this, you tell an admin, then a free admin comes on, kicks em, voila

1. Ask them nicely to leave.
There are some lpbs who make a genuine mistake and if asked, immediately leave.

2. If they dont ask nicely, ask them unnicely

3. If 1 or 2 doesnt work, goto mirc and get and admin.

Most probably in bed, at night it is very hard to get an admin but you have to go to the bwadmins channel on irc to find one.

Yes, yes. I'm aware that most people sleep. I used to do it myself, before I began fighting crime on the subway.

The Point is that these people should be kicked automatically. Otherwise, you might as well rename the server to "56k only, except when there are no admins around."

Is it not possible in the server settings to actually restrict the maximum amount of bandwidth allocated to each player? That might give an LPB a similar ping to a HPB.

Ping is latency remember TJ thus the speed from point to point...bandwidth is how much so technically bandwidth restrictions wouldn't stop the lower pingers.

ahh of course, thx. I suppose adminmod could either just look at a ping, and kick accordingly, or introduce a fake lag of some kind. Perhaps, for this server, adminmod should be installed?

Since BW are using metamod as it is (HLGuard is a MM) maybe it wouldn't be too hard for them to throw one together so that it would boot people with a ping under 120-130.

I dont think it is possible to script on metamod.. And since BW are not running/going to run Adminmod, auto-kick is one of those things you dream about but never get


Although, the FF server auto-kicks ppl with 3 TKs. Hows that possible without adminmod?

This is what I was on about, the interface is already there (MM), just got to write the logic to do it.
