is it still worth playing as a lowbie now TOA has come and everyone is playing their mains? or will it be even harder than it used to be to get a group below level 30?

It'll probably be really easy with a support class. Lots of people levelling new half ogre tanks and grouping with them on the way up, from what guildies are saying.
If your a support class you have a small chance of not having to solo, otherwise you're going to find it very difficult. Not to mention that your not miles behind in terms of not only levels but realm abilities, master levels and artifacts/equipment.
DAOC just became near impossible for the casual gamer who isn't unemployed/has a life to compete with the rest.
Has made soloing alot easier as most are away farming ToA, though guess be hard if a non solo type class
So far my Sorce is loveing the peace and quiet, except when idiot grps just barge into camp and start pulling, even though camp hardly suports those already there..
Groups below 20 aren't so hard to find. I've been doing quite a few and got from 1 to 24 in a few sessions, no powerlevel and a combo of solo and grouped.
You meet mostly new players below 20 which makes for some entertaining pulls and a visit to your bindstone but thats part of the fun
Typical conversation:
Q: "What does that mob con to you?"
A: "What is con?"
