Was watching a teardown on Twitch last night, mainly positive but couple of "issues", main one being the CPU is soldered but what consumer device apart from PCs have socketed CPUs, so is irrelevant.

I think it is irrelevant as well, when you consider the market it is aimed at, those who would want a socketed CPU will have a PC.

The CPU is fine in the Machine but the GPU is surely going to be a problem with only 8 GB of VRAM - the closest discrete equivalent is the RX 7600 and that comes in 8 GB and 16 GB SKUs so I don't know why they aren't even giving the option of 16 GB.

Anyway, the Frame is the most interesting to me, followed by the Controller. I love the Index once it's on my head and I'm in a game but it's just such a palaver to get it set up - doing away with the base stations will make a massive difference to the amount I actually use it.

Around 70% of all Steam user PCs use worse hardware - You're not their target audience.

It's not a PC to me, it's a way to properly play Steam in the lounge, which I'm totally up for now I've used my Steam Deck for it exclusively for over a year and with XBOX pivoting to "gaming hardware will be super expensive"
