I seriously suggest you see this film. It's absolutely amazing, scenery was breathtaking, characters superb and (in my opinion) stayed true to the book.

Was only spoiled by girls next to me constantly sending and recieving FUCKING TEXT MESSAGES ALL FILM AND LAUGHING DURING THE EMOTIONAL SCENES

I didn't buy popcorn :( bought a hotdog instead with a drink and a bag of sweets to share with my mates. £7.50! Bloody rip off :(

Very good look and feel but not having read the books I was kinda feeling that everything just happened without explanation. "Oh God the Chigredt demon of the Lower Tresgarth order !!!" Pardon ? you get my point right :)

I havent seen it yet, but as for those girls. Just hold large bucket of popcorn above their heads, then proceed to let it accidentally rotate until it all falls on them :/

or taking their phone and throwing it at the nearest r00d bw0y type person who will then nick it or give them some slappings for throwing it

but that would cause increase noise..

either way
the film coming out has partly inspired me to reread the hobbit
which im about to go and do now
class story
if only they actually made a mmorpg from it...
oh well

I saw this last night with my girlfriend. Amazing how the 3 hours flew by.

****possible spoiler ahead*****

It was well freaky frodo met bilbo in rivendell and bilbo made a grasp for the ring. TBH I think that was the freakiest part of the film for me cos it was TOTALLY unexpected and very effective.

I think the ending came far too soon. But then it is part of a trilogy and we already know that. I've not read the book, and I don't really want to. I'd like the plot of the film to be a surprise. Maybe I'll get around to reading the book after the film.

Paying for the tickets and getting all the food was part of my xmas pressy to my bird and she loved it. She's into her Simon Green and Robert Jordan fantasy books and was sat there, wide-eyed staring at the screen all the way through.

Marks out of ten? 9.5. One of the best films I've seen in years and I can't wait for the others to come out.

Aye, tis true. This is the best film ever. I'm going to go see it again at the cinema, and I've never ever done that before. I want a pet Hobbit for Christmas! He'd sit, all cute and small on the settee, and I would lovingly groom his feet. Oh, and men fighting with swords... shnarfage!

I couldn't find fault, apart from the fact we were sat so close to the screen I got vertigo every time the camera angle moved. Amazing bloody acting. But I have to wait until next Christmas for the next film? Oh cruel cruel world.

Everyone must see this film. Except for people that like Titanic. This will be your punishment for encouraging *that* film. No LOTR for you!! So Damini has decreed, so it must be.

I think this is the best film of the year. The shire was so detailed and very much as I imagined it.

Thought leaving Tom Bombadil out was a bad idea as the barrow scene would have been cool instead of Aragorn arriving with a few swords he found somewhere?????

Didn't think Arwen should have been the one to call the river as this is a cool Gandalf scene yet I think it would have meant even more chopping about (and there was enough of that already with the Gandalf sub-story)

Overall superb..def. see again soon at the cinema (did that for Gladiator too) buy the DVD, read the book again and wait and wait and wait and wait till next year....bastard...thats a long time to wait.

i read the book dozens of times as a teenager and went along almost expecting to be bored.however i can honestly say it was one the best films i have ever seen! defininatly worth seeing you will not be disappointed :)

I'm halfway through the first book and I'm determined to finish it before I get frog marched to the cinema by my ex-missus. I figured they'd leave Tom Bombadil out coz despite him having a fit missus, he came across as being a bit too camp for a forest dwelling barrow-wight killing type.
I mean who the hell beats nasty willow trees and defeats the undead by singing ffs?

Although they could've got Jim Carrey to play him and that would've been just pure bedlam to watch :)

m8 i actually quite envy u for not having read the book.to be sure i aint read it in years but its really,really good.
i wont tell u what they put in/miss out in the film but suffice to say it does it justice.
bet no one can tell me gandalfs original name?

It really is nice to see and hear of a film executed so well to a book. I haven't read it myself, but from everyone i've heard who has seen and read it, it seems to follow the book (more or less) down to a T. Makes a bloody nice change with modern hollywood 'blockbusters' which consistently alter bound narrative and cast crappeh actors throughout.

I look forward to seeing this film :D

I liked that there were no 'blatent' Hollywood stars like Mel Gibson etc that you couldn't see them fitting into the role. Sean Bean did bloody well :D

Exactly nighty babes. Sean Bean is a superb actor, he really seems to have such a diverse acting capability.

titanic was cool for the fact it was a modern rendition of that nasty disaster, showed about issues regarding class back then, which i enjoyed.

but LOTR seriously rocks the pants off it, i havent seen it yet (still) however im rather sure it rocks, i mean nighty says its cool so it must be..

cant wait to see it ;)

ah Bodhi I aint in a position to agree with you on that one as I havent seen LOTR yet, but Gladiator truely is an amazing film, I'll have to see LOTR to judge it, but Gladiator definately does rock :)

love the end bit, as his mate buries those wooden statuettes of his wife and kid.. and the camera rises up with that tune, pure class;)
