Arsenal were very shady over this entire thing - they own the consortium that owns Beveren, and they're trying to get out of it?

Do they not realise that if you, "X", own "A" which in turn owns "B", then "X" also owns "B" in effect?

They likely do, but are just trying to wriggle out of it.
