I played a bit around with the new DF items and what you can do with them, just using those or fixed (read: not Glacier Jewel with random stats) quest items. The template uses 2 mp pieces, but if you go for boots and gloves (250-300g each) that doesn't matter imho, considering the sc alone will cost you 2p (or more). Suppression is fixed (due to one bracer), but 2nd skill is free choice, so the template fits any cloth caster that uses suppression as one skill.

Even assuming GOA really manages to release TOA end of Feb (yes, we all still believe in Santa Klaus ) it will take you quite some time (maybe 2 month' at least I'd say) to get enough new gear to make a new SC worth it. That would mean you will still use your current gear for 3+ more month. Well worth getting it descent imho.

Don't waste an imbue slot on darkness focus. Focus does nothing for baseline spells that I've noticed. Can do exactly the same amount of nukes with and without darkness focus.

Heh, funny thing. When I was doing Belorfyn's SC set, SC was pretty new and SI was coming.
Of course, most were waiting for SI because we knew based on US version that there was alot useful items coming. But I thought it'd take me time anyway to get all them SI items and stuff. And it did. I'm still wearing that same set
Now I've started to think about getting new one with SI items (hehe) and also of course thought of all ToA items too, new set with those is a must that's for sure. But I'm gonna get the new set now, since it'll take loads of time to collect artifacts, master levels and whatnot
Who knows, maybe I'll make my ToA set just before next retail expansion after it then

Hmm, it affects summoning atleast, that's for sure. When I was darkness, I did a test once with 50 summoning focus an without and summoned pet. Of course, spell uses much power so it's easier to see but it had much effect in it.
Well, I haven't ran test with Dark base nukes (yet
) so can't argue, but I'm pretty confident that it has effect.

Tried with summoning. 10 power bars of no summoning focus and 10 power bars of 50 summoning focus. Could cast 15 pet heals each and everytime.. or maybe it was 16 heals.. did it back in 1.62 so unless something changed drastically I never noticed a difference.
