Looking for a RTS ala...

Stronghold 2 but without such a massive micromanagement gameplay.

got the stronghold bundle from d2d uk for about a tenner but its just to complicated for me.

i like the idea of the game but there's just to much to keep track of.

so does anyone know of a similar game?

and no, not age of empires, i'd like something fairly new.

basically, there isnt, assuming you mean the whole "castle sim" thing

however Stronghold 3 is in the works and due out sometime soon-ish

bah.

probably won't pay stronghold 3 any attention as the chances that it will be just as annoying is fairly big.

they are making it more "fun" and less "fiddly" apparently
apart from that, 2 main things;
-proper, full 3d
- drag line to draw walls, rather than fiddly clifftop building etc

you mean stronghold 2?

its fiddly more then deep, tons of micromanagement that you can not automate that well. so its damn hard to actually sit down and focus on what you actually need to do as all the other crap constantly gets in the way.
