Weighs 2.9 kg (a wee bit more with scope), cost £40... actually shoots pellets. That's one heavy hunk of metal you're putting together.

The British Army's L85A2 (or SA80 as commonly know) weighs in at 5kg with loaded magazine and SUSAT sight. I thought at first you were making a futuristic pistol style thingie, but it's shaping up to be more like a rifle in weight and size. Your gun is only 60mm short of the length of the L85A2, and it doesn't yet have a stock.

Is the tube on top meant to be a sight? If it is then bear in mine that the stock will need to be long enough to leave your eye a couple of cm from the end you look through..
