If i spelt that word wrong, sod off and don't correct me.

Do people think in 6 months time no-one will be playing this anymore?

They prolly will, mainly due to DICE expansions and the modding community.

It'll be the modding community I think. There's a bunch of people effectively remaking Desert Combat (as Desert Conflict), which will mean better balance in many aspects. I loved the original DC so hope the new one will match, if not exceed it.

I never bought a single BF1942 expansion, nor BF:V (which I saw as just another expansion, doing things the modding community had already done to BF1942, well, ok, plus a slightly different rendering of vegetation), as I was quite happy playing DC, a ltitle vanilla BF1942 and a smattering of Galactic Conquest (the Star Wars mod).

I'm sure with the modding community I'll still play this at least some of the time years from now. I was happily playing DC still the turn of the year, well over 2 years after BF1942 came out.

Roll on the release of the full editing tools!

6 months maximum ;)
Weevil learn to spell for god sake !!

ps on the plus side we just played our first clan match tonight, it wasnt as tense as a cs match, or indeed anything like it -for me anyway- but tell you what it was a lot of fun, and Athan was a good heli pilot, though not as good a medic as me :p

I can rock in a heli given a good gunner, and intense enough action on the ground so I'm not getting slammed by ATs when I'm being nice to my gunner with nice steady movement so he can actually aim :D.

*makes mental note to jump in Heli when Athan is Pilot*

I'll get lots of kills I think....

I quite agree Throd wasnt anywhere near the pace and intensity of a CS Match...

I would also give it 6 months before I get tired of BF2

But then again you weren't having to wait until end of rounds to respawn :p.

I hate that in CS (and other games with that play mode). Makes it very hard for newbies to get a feel for the game.

Lets not start all this off again, but thats the point of cs, its what makes it so intense.

All games tend to suffer from overplay, basically they get released and you play it loads then get a little bit bored but eventually you tend to go back and play it again.

When I play it (bf2 that is) I must admit it is one excellent game :)
