How is it a laughable statement?? Messi is currently head and shoulders above ronaldo, probably playing overall better football than ROnaldo did last year. I dont want to comment on who I feel is better, but its far from a laughable statement. Arteta is better than Ronaldo, now thats a laughable statement.

As for goals in the premiership, well what Ronaldo did last year was remarkable yes, but maybe we should add some like roque santa cruz to Ronaldo's bracket, given that he scored something like 20 goals in 8 years and then scores a shit load in his first season at perrenial strugglers Blackburn.

Players like Henry, SHearer, horse face etc, all consistently scored shit loads of goals in the premiership. Maybe the defenders are better in spain?

Oh and given that you rate Puyol, shows how little you know about La Liga given that he is a shadow of the player he once was.

Why do they have to be CB's though? that's not the only position Puyol plays after all.

I think you need to check your stats on this one dude. In the past 15 years or so, the winner of the FIFA player of the year award has only been part of a champions league winning side 4 times or so.
