The season is almost upon us!

BBC SPORT | Football | My Club | Leeds United | Leeds hit with 15-point penalty

Less than 48hrs till the football season proper starts*, what are your predictions for the year?

Premiership
Champions - Man Utd, having ignored their debt have spent a load this year, could do with a goal poacher but otherwise I can't see anyone getting above them.
Champs League - Chelsea, Liverpool, Spurs :)D)
UEFA Cup - Arsenal

Relegated - Derby, Wigan & Birmingham

Other things
Blue Square Premier** - The Mighty Harriers

Champs League - Inter Milan

UEFA Cup - Bayern Munich, if they don't win this after signing Ribery, Klose and Toni expect several sackings :)

* I'm not counting noddy scottish leagues that only Draylor cares about here
** AKA the Conference National

Fuck off! We didn't cheat, just had a bent director who insisted on getting us the best referees. The team won those two Scudettos fair and square, on the pitch where it counts.

LOL @ Leeds

And Chelsea will win the premiership.

Then you shouldve saved this thread for a week: the only season that started properly this weekend were those "noddy" Scottish leagues.

And what a start too. Any game I gave a shit for had the result go the right way - long may it continue :fluffle:

Anyway:

LOL @ Leeds indeed. Couldnt happen to a better team.

Prem winners: whichever of Man U/Chelsea have fewer injury problems. Would be nice to see Spurs have a better season and mix things up a bit at the top. The longer we see the same teams get the CL spots the wider the gap will get.

Noddy English Leagues: Sorry JB, noone cares :D GL to your team I suppose.

Too close to call on the Premiership - it'll be United or Chelsea again, but there's nowt between them. Lovers of attractive football will be hoping for United of course :)

On paper you'd have to put Barcelona down for the Champions League.

Liverpools new signing will fail to settle in for half a season and they will lose many points..
Torres is gnna be the Lol of the season.

Man u's team looks unbeatable from where im standing

Im an arsenal supporter and i aint happy about some of the signings but they will challenge this season :) if van persie doesnt get injured!

Torres is one of those "one great game, two shit ones" players. While you can argue that United would have been better off with one conventional forward like Torres instead of the identikit Rooney/Tevez combo, I think Tevez will make his mark far more quickly than Torres.

Going to be interesting to see how Alan Smith and Michael Owen get on at Newcastle. I actually think Smith got a raw deal from United and we never really played him properly.

Well Torres is a great player its just the team he was in was really shit and it was pretty much him only that carried them along.

He was always too good for Atleti but he wanted to stay there to mature and gain experience which is good.

He's already scored his first goal for Liverpool in their friendlys and it was a typical Torres goal in that he is a great finisher.

Yep kinda felt sorry for Smith but he wanted first team football and what footballer doesn't?

Can't wait to see Torres in action am a big fan of his.

Tevez doesn't need to make his mark hes a proven player in the league now and needs no introduction.

Thats true i don't know why any player joins Chelsea.. apart from the money.

Must be fucking boring on the bench every week if you fuck up constantly.

Can't see Ballack doing well now another player that should have gone Man u.
