Remeber when housing was first introduced and the names of some items were too long to fit on the CM so u couldnt see the prices ?.. Remember how some sneaky chappies put low lvl items up for 1p so ud buy it thinking itd be like 20g but waste all your cash..

Remember the patch the put in to fix it ? well omg.. people must have never visited thier house since because lo and behold.. yup people still do it..

Ive seen lvl 20 rogs put in peoples houses for 20p , seen return tokens for 5p. numerous items that arent worth diddly <Loot items that sound important ect>. But what gets to me is why ? do u really think people are Still stupid enuf to accidently buy something for that much , and considering a lot of these items are low lvl, u think a lowbies gona have 1p on him anyway to buy that item for use ? No , so plz grow up and stop it. Searching through Middie CM's the other day for some stuff i come across some guy selling lvl 20 power pots , ooh i thought have some of them then i looked, he'd craftilly put them 1p each not 1g. Intentionally so that someone not really paying attention would "accidently" buy one quickly not looking at the price. Luckily i did. Sad though isnt it that its not against the CoC so people will try to screw others over. This goes for all 3 realms cos ive played on and seen them all how the do it.

Anyway whine over, sort your CM's out , oh and im not sure if its a bug but there seems to be an over abundance of items in CM's even low lvl stuff with no price set for them, mostly RoGs, not sure if prices got reset after a hotfix a while back cos i seem to remeber something like that happening as well as the ME bug, so check your CM's peeps !! ^_~

Think if they're all up for 1p, it's more for storage reasons. Just think of it like this, CM is faster accessed than the housevault.

Those that fill a CM page with pots for gold prices and inbetween pots for a few platin are the meanies.

I think Cy is right as I do that, its because my vault is full and I intend to give them to an alt or a lower level Guild member.

For storage u don't need to set a price on the item :)

You could get lucky, that someone would be desperate enough ;) ... I price the stuff too on my cm, that I'm just vaulting, altho at least I'm decent enough and put it on the last page, not mingling it inbetween the rest of the stuff :p

... with a small exception (hi sharp :D)

not everyone necessarily knows that, so if you don't know this little detail, setting no price would mean 'free give away'... 1p is just one click and more than anyone in his right mind would pay for some pot/rog ;)

its vary common that peeps use cm for storage, and they dont wanna push 10 plats op, 1 is enough tbh. I do it offen, cous both housevault + main vault is full. And yes as somebody said, its good if u need to move stuff to a alt

I didnt know you don't have to put a price in...when i am swapping stuff between chars, i sometimes use my CM. And yes..i put the prices at something like 20plat for a scummy rog. Because once before i put a damn fine mace on there for a measly 100 gold swapped chars, got my merc to my house...by the time he got there..it had been sold. SO, i use the very very high prices to stop this. Simple way really. You don't get anybody running off with your kit because of a "legitimate, you pressed accept, GoA washes hands of everything" transfer.

And, Knighthood...why do WE need to sort our CMs out. As far as i know mine is "working as intended" (o:

Yes I think it's people using their CM as vault space, and it is intensely annoying... until you learn this simple trick:

When doing a CM search always set the minimum price field to 1 copper - problem solved!

I had once almost accidently bought a power potions for 2 plat. It was like this, he had 20 same power potions on his merchants and all were 2g except for 1, it was 2p. So I needed like 10 of em and started buying 1 for one and suddenly got the message "you cant buy this item cause you don't have enough money" or something...so thank god I had like 1 plat on my char at that time so I couldnt buy it...

What people do with their CM's, house, items ect is their choice.
Only thing you can do is stay awake when you buy items!

i never have enough money in inventory to be ripped off when im buying pots ;)

i only have money when i need to buy something, and when i get the money ill buy it instantly. and if i dont need to buy anything i dont farm and dont have more than 1p :p

Best scams I have seen is ppl that sell pots of differen kinds for lets say 10g they have 20 of them. Then they set the price to 10p randomly among the 20 in hopes of someone not looking properly. I know one house that does this on Mid/Excal, still considering if I am gonna hang out the dude on FH. :)

I know, but dont force me to hold down 2 buttoms.
And tbh cant really se any problem, only the ppl selling 5 pots for 2g and 1 for 2p thats lame, the rest is completly ok no matter what price u set it at.

Im also getting tired of ppl in /as saying stuff like "omg a idiot selling Love story 3/3 for 20p" maybe he cant use his brain and think, that the person selling DOSNT wanna sell.

If you do not wish to sell an item, do not set price on it then. Items without price cannot be bought.

Sometimes you will have an item that you CAN use yourself, but it could also be worth a lot if you sell it. I tend to put these on CM for a high price, it's kind of letting fate decide ^^ If it sells, I'm rich, if not, I use it myself :p

And in general: whenever I buy something, I check if it says "p" or "g" after the numbers, it's not that hard, tbh ;)

There are people out there sad enough to try to rip you off, and this thread won't stop them.

People still putting prices on items are almost certainly trying to rip you off, whatever they say. Being able to put no price on items has been discussed widely and there's no reason people shouldn't know it.

My advice is to put all your money on you CM and only carry a few hundred on you. When you want to buy stuff you can go /settle the amount from your CM. When you don't, you can't accidently pay someone who is trying to rip you off.

not everyone reads manuals.
not everyone reads forums.
not everyone cares that much about a game to work himself into the game mechanics. (as in log in, play, log off)

and if you set an item for no price on your CM, the textbox does say something like:
"price for slot X set to 0"

no, "item locked" or anything.

so assuming that everyone knows every detail about how this game works is just wrong ;)
And housing isn't much more than a detail.

that was a goldmine in Ultima Online
selling shields that you could get in a unlimited amount for free from a NPC worked good too

in lineage 2 you get a warning that the item is severly overpriced when you are about to buy a common item (crafting materials, arrows) that is over 1000% of the market price or smt, they should do that in daoc too  (tho lineage 2 has shitloads of scammers)

What's market price for stuff tho? Most decent drops are no sell or sell for like 5g, I'd get annoyed if they warned about trying to buy any drop over 50g. :p
On the other hand for things like arrows, potions etc, it's a nice idea. :)

well first of all look at the utility of the item your selling.

If its say mp weapon with +1 con +2 blunt +2 blades +1 resist.

then i wouldnt say its worth more than salvage value of around 100 to 250gp

if its a mp weapon say a piercer with +3 all mellee skills +10 crush resist +15 dex +10 quick dd proc of insta win then i would say its worth around 2 to 5plat.

All unactivated artifacts 500gp regardless of how ubah rare they are because you cant activate an artifact without the encounter anyways.

scrolls 10gp for common drop
150 for not so common
1 plat for rare

books shouldnt instantly be worth 10 plat just because you found 1 rare scroll.

crafted stuff normally go by material cost + 50% for potions / procs / ablatives.

armour / weapons + stuff dependant on the crafter.

unique items or hard to get say respec stones, trophies, ml10 drops, quest items then obviously you choose.

also think of the level when i was on excal i saw lvl 24 weapons going for 1 plat its like erm how many lvl 24 peeps do you know have 1 plat. maybe 100gp but not a plat.

anywho those are my gems of wisdom.

If only :) Last i checked GoV, SoM and CS sold for like 60p in housing :( Wish people would stop farming these items for profit so that those that need them got more of a chanse to get them the proper way.
