Yes because not getting a pen is having luck!

they were lucky. You can't deny that really. Rooney and Larsson was hardly creating anything up front.

Second best on the day again but 3 points in the bank, lucky yes but when we hit form again things will be much sweeter.

M8 for 3/4 of the season we were playing great attacking football, nobody can keep that up!

All the numpties were saying Utd still have hard games left to play, who are they?

City and Blackburn for a start, our record against both has been dire in recent years. We need to be getting back to basics and fast, 5 poor games in a row is a big feking blip and we have been fortunate but as the saying goes that is the sign of champions.

Long way to go yet though, I think another 3-4 wins will put a ton of pressure on Chelsea and that could be the deciding factor. Right now they cannot afford to drop a single point and a loss will all but kill them off, Chelsea are a resolute side though and I can see them making a real fight of it all the way to the end. Like them or not they have been worthy champions for two years and they won't give up that crown without a real fight. If United find form again though I honestly don't think there is much Chelsea can do but as the saying goes I won't be counting my chickens until they hatch.

Oh before I forget, with regards to United injuries and Larrson leaving. Well Rooney might be out for Lille and Ole's injury leaves us short once Larrson goes but thankfully Smudger (Smith) had a damn good game for the reserves and it starting to look like his old self. I really hope he gets a run in the side before the end of the season, the bloke is a diamond.

Liverpool played better no doubt, winning the Champions League though? Possible but a long way to go mate, don't overlook Barca for a start because they will be fighting for thier lives against you this week. If you knock them out though then that will be a serious feather in Liverpool's cap and they would have the be considered a favourite to win the whole thing. Football is funny though, just when it looks like it is going to be your day it turns around and kicks you right in the testicles. That is why I never make outrageous claims that we will win things anymore, I made those same mistakes when I was younger and you end up looking like a complete dick when it doesn't happen ;)

Oh also. If Chelsea and United both win their FA cup games and go into the semi-final, the game at Stamford bridge is going to be the last of the season apparently.

Lets hope that it's closer by then or it doesn't come to that as it'll take away the real importance of the game :p

It was an interesting game and a few talking points to it. But all in all Liverpool can feel hard done by for not getting anything from the game. But Man Utd played like champions. They could not get anything going but they dug deep and pulled a rabbit out the hat, much like Chelsea seem to do every week (afteral they rarely play decent football :p )

Liverpool goal, at first looked wrong decision (although i claimed offside instantly as you would) however Sissoko flick clearly has the guy in an offside position, if not for that flick i think they may still have scored so that was a big of luck.

Saha penalty, well not sure how that was not given. Was pretty clear penalty from my view but i can only guess the ref didnt think Saha had control of ball and therefore no foul as the liverpool defender had possession. Not sure if that what the ref thought but that the only reason i can think for not giving it when the standing leg so clearly gets pulled from under the attacker.

Scholes sending off. Im still not sure about his intent. Did he go to strike the player and miss? I dont think so.
Did he go to strike him and then showed better judgement? Possibly
Was he just throwing his arm around to appeal the referees decision like players all do? Possibly.

The major thing though that makes me think that it may be the second option is if you watch where scholes is looking it is towards Alonso. So it is really hard to call, though im guessing that United will appeal it and state that it is "out of character" for him to act in that behaviour, afteral Scholes is in general a really fair player that just cant time a tackle, but rarely has a go at the ref and just accepts it.

Still great result, hopefully Rooney be OK, didnt look too serious and hope it just a dead leg. Van da Saar... what more can I say. Once again he proves why many deem him as the best in the world currently, outstanding saves. Just happy Crouch decided not to head the chance in the 88th minute and gave him time to get across the line to pull of a magnificant save.

Bad luck to the Liverpool fans. Hopefully can stick in there and pip arsenal to that 3rd place

To be honest, it looked to me on the replay like he was throwing a fist at the player, but possibly not with the intent to actually hit. Red card wasn't a harsh decision IMO for that. Man U should've had a pen though, you can't just take someones leg like that.

Good job because you need to win lol

They need to win 10 of the last 11 games, including beating Utd to be in with a chance to be honest. Chelsea started the game 12 points behind, but that really is 13 points if you account goal difference. Cant see chelsea catching up on the GD hence the extra point they need.

I would personally expect man utd to pick up at least 26 points in this final run in if they can pick up the form again. If not they may only get about 22. Either way that means chelsea really cant afford to drop any points really, and to be honest they dont look like they are going to at the moment but hopefully they slipup in the next couple weeks to give a bit of breathing room.

I just watched Scoles sending off again i wonder if the FA have told refs to send people off for throwing arms about now so they can hump Wenger. I know you used to need contact but the FA say no now

Scholes was probably due a sending off anyway, few times this season he has got away with some stupid tackles :twak:
