Just installed Red Hat 8 coz I wanted to see what it was like ;)

Any suggestions (preferably not involving me putting things into bodily cavities) as to the best sites/books/techniques to learn the OS and do funky things with it ?

No, the best way to have fun, is to do things that you need to do... Get Q3 running? You'll need to install drivers and such, which will result in you learning some stuff. Want to watch DVDs? You gotta install a media player with some kind of CSS decoder, you'll learn fuck loads if you can do that :D

Maybe there's some good learning resource somewhere on the net... But i've been using RH7.2 for nearly 18months now, and i've learned everything i know from necessity. Use the manpages, and #linux.uk for help when you get stuck :D

Old post i know but these links could help someone. There are loads more.

The manuals on the RedHat website are also very good.

Do not try and learn anything from the man pages. They are ok for looking up an odd command but their main purpose is to confuse newbies.
