Ok,
Am going to be installing a pretty hefty server at FH towers on Sunday and am currently undecided on what distro to use as the host operating system.
The server will run linux with either the XEN or OpenVZ kernel to give me the ability to create virtual machines. On top of this I will install vmware gsx just in case of windows
So, I am currently torn between Centos 5 and Ubuntu 7.04 server for the os.
I am familiar with Redhat/fedora so Centos seems a natural choice.
The hardware platform consists of the following:
2 x dual core Socket F Opteron 2212
4 gb memory (for now, can be upgraded to 32gb)
Dual gig eth ports
4 x 250gb sata ii maxtors
Comments welcome...
