Refer to some of Bugz's early posts, then you'll get it :D

Can we keep the fuckin thread on topic and not delve into such things.

If you want to search my posts, use the search button. Or pm me and i'll even tell you how! Would hate to see another discussion ruined by small-talk.

Care to explain or are you going to continue trying to post clever one liners? :)

If a guy earns £10 a week for example, gives £5 of it to charity he now has £5 a week to live off...

If a guy earns £1000 a week and gives £500 to charity he now has £500 to live off, significantly more than the first person to live off

Now if a guy earns £1 million per week and give half a mil to charity he still has half a million to live off making it a smaller sacrifice than person a as there is little or no influence on his life

Scale it again $60 billion, $30 billion to charity there is no hardship at all, therefor the first person is giving up far more than the last.

As well as the fact you claim others to be more ignorant, when you infact twist the bible paraphrase to your own means rather than what it really stands for.
The oposite isn't true.. because the quote was relative
even if the poor woman gave less money, she would have given more in relation to her circumstances than the rich people..

Irony strikes again, isn't it you who threw a insult as a opening in the first place?
Ignorance of some people are astounding.

Notice the words: 'According to the Bible.' Therefore, that is not my opinion but I guess what some Christians may feel towards the issue. Therefore that negates all of the stuff you wrote above.

As for the last part - I said 'small-talk' not insults. Small talk is little bits of convo that do not relate to the main discussion. That negates the last part of your post.

:)

Luke 21
The Widow's Offering
1As he looked up, Jesus saw the rich putting their gifts into the temple treasury. 2He also saw a poor widow put in two very small copper coins.[a] 3"I tell you the truth," he said, "this poor widow has put in more than all the others. 4All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on."
Looks pretty clear it contridicts what you said and re-affirms what i have stated with my example to me tbh

So you initiate in small talk and tell them to stop a couple posts later

Looks like someone is clutching at straws

How is calling everyone ignorant small talk?, its a insult or is it ok if i say
your a twat
and call it small talk?

Sorry but your clutching at straws now

What in sweet fuck are you on about dude? I said:

According to the Bible, the poor lady who gave all her money gave more than the rich men who only gave a fraction. This is the opposite for Gates - he has given 50% of his current net worth to charity and you guys have gave a minimal percentage.

My first sentence is the same as your quote. I then listed in the second sentence that some Christians may perceive it as the opposite for Gates as none of us here are in direct poverty and so in theory, Gates gave more out of his wealth than others.

I'd like to state ofcourse - that I am not Christian and that is not my view.

As for second part:
What the fuck? I said that calling everyone ignorant wasn't small talk.

Edit - Ahh, you quickly edited after reading it through. There's a difference between small talk comprising of 5 words and then an informative post and a post that's offers nothing to the discussion.

Can we get on-topic somewhat now without you trying to pick holes in my posts and failing? =/

However, Bill Gates also has a lot more wealth/surplus, so it's only normal that he gives more. There is no real difference between having 60 or 30 billion dollars. There probably isn't even a noticeable difference betwen 60 billion and 1 billion dollars. In the terminology of the bible Gates is the rich man, giving out of his wealth, because even after giving it away he's still the richest man in the world. If you really want to look at percentages, then deduct the cost to live first. Personally I think it's even better to look at absolute numbers though (not the gifts in absolute numbers, but how much one keeps after basic needs are fulfilled).

(Also, slightly off-topic, if he has $60 billion and has given $30 billion, that means he has given 1/3 and not 1/2 of his fortune)

@Person who @Overdriven'd:

Shouldn't matter how much you give, as long as you do. What I was basically trying to say. Should be no difference giving 30bn or 30p, the point is you're giving. I think using 'morals' wasn't the right word.

To Overdriven: I understand now. I completely disagree, but I see what you're saying :). Personally I think that someone who's richer also should give more, but it's really a fundamental intuition of fairness which I can't be bothered to argue (because it would require me to do some research and write an essay of several pages).

I am not a frickin' Christian and I said that was not my view. Stop being a smartass and read the basic sentences. My view was placed above that. Notice 'according to the bible' equates to a new p.o.v.

& Blokky was right - but unlike you, he actually understands that it is a Christian p.o.v. from the Bible and not my own words.

Ohhh and there is never a thing such as having no argument. That's just ignorance :D Point of views are what make a forum unique.

Didn't explain myself clearly enough, had more important thing to think about today xD Atleast we got there in the end though! - Honestly, could happen both ways with the essay comment. Just depends how you see it really.

I want to piss somebody off now..

@Bugz: Didn't you say you wern't going to use FH as much? xD

I dont detest Bill Gates. I detest the societal rules that allows a man to accumulate enough money to buy a medium sized country. It is wrong, any way you look at it.

yeah screw hard working individuals!

so fed up of weirdo lefties whining about rich people, most of today's rich people (ignoring the "it crowd" wankers) earned their money from hard work. If it wasn't for the Bill Gate's of this world we would probably all be sitting on our arses begging like the "poor" countries.

If you don't like it don't use microsoft stuff, but stop whing because someone has the mind to make bucket loads of money (and still give loads away) if he gave all his money away what would be the point in the business of microsoft. they exist at the end of the day to make money.

Song was ok, generic Nu metal though, As people said the video could fit any song, surprised U2 didn't do it.

Absolutely not, i have the greates respect for hard working individuals. I think a single mother with 3 children and 2 jobs is a hero.

Really now? I didnt know farmers and dockworkers etc could retire at 40 as billionairs. I stand corrected.

If it wasn't for the Bill Gate's of this world we would probably all be sitting on our arses begging like the "poor" countries.

If it wasnt for all the moneygrubbing fuckers in the world there would be no "poor countries" sitting on their "arses" and begging for crumbs from the rich mans table.

stop whing because someone has the mind to make bucket loads of money (and still give loads away) if he gave all his money away what would be the point in the business of microsoft. they exist at the end of the day to make money.

I find statements such as these to be baffling. "They exist at the end of the day to make money" - Yes unfortunately we live in a society where "making money" is a purpose unto itself and where money has turned into a virus or a cancer duplicating itself at the expense of its host (i.e. society), eating up all dignity and humanity in the process. What the fuck is the point of "making money", when you have more than enough to live a comfortable life. Money is archaic, our economy is archaic - it is just a continuation of the feudal days, only instead of who has more land being in charge its now who has more electronic figures on a number of accounts. Did you know that when large scale moneyhandling was first introduced in europe and the roman empire it was considered sinful to make money from money (i.e. lending with interest etc) and it was left to "unclean" people. At least they had something right back in those days.

Song was ok, generic Nu metal though, As people said the video could fit any song, surprised U2 didn't do it.

I agree

I don't in comparison to how much I did before if that makes sense.

Tonight was just a one off as I've been doing geography from 6pm-midnight so I'm a bit browsy xD

I do like to pop my head into good discussions though but I tend to stay out of the silly, rambling type threads.

Funny enough, the whole "Is bill clinton a hero/good guy" thing is WAAAAAY off-topic...if you care to read the first page.

Shouldn't have said anything about bill gates and just say Carlos Slim Helú and Donald Trump...all the fanbois came out like a horde of little xboxes and took the point of the post, twisted it and took it to all new heights :(
