God you really wonder why you bother sometimes dont you. Go loads of shit going on in my life at the moment anyway, wifes not well, job might be getting outsourced next year moneys tight etc but holding things together etc.

Month ago cat was ill and managed to scrimp together the £400 to pay it, and tonight the poor little sod got ran over. Kids are in floods of tears, almost feels like the last straw for me (god that sounds so melodramatic now ive typed it) and ive just spent the last 45 minutes burying the cat and washing all the blood off the road outside our house so the kids dont see it in the morning, and im just soooo totally fed up with everything at the moment I really cant put it into words, crap crap crap

So much for the christmas spirit.

Well i'm gonna say something, that might seem uncharasteristic; i'm sorry for your loss.

Pets are, for all intentions and purposes, family and i can relate to loosing such a pet. But i can alsotell you, in a paraphrasing way, that the time of sorrow is the strongest at the event of tradegy for after that the healing begins.

Your children are probably most affected by this and i wouldn't wish it on anyone to lose a companion that most times means more then anything in the world to them.

Don't go replacing it straight away, let the sorrow sink in so they can honor the memory. But in time, the wounds will heal and those feelings will pass, and perhaps luckily, the younger the better and it is a stepping stone, a growing moment if you will. A new pet will never replace the old one and it shouldn't, but the next one they get in their lives will be that much more dear as the reality of a pets passing is there to enforce it.

Try to enjoy the holidays as much as you can and do tell your children that a magical north living Seel says the cat is having a wild adventure with him.

Unlucky dude - life has a pretty shitty way of throwing crap at people all at once.

Some people make it - some people don't - for your families sake make sure you are the former, rather than the latter.

Sorry to hear about your bad news m8, but when I'm feeling bad I always think of those who are way worse off than me..

Think of that tree man guy, or some guy who has had his face torn off by a bear..or others who have lost their children..

Be thankful that you still have your children and your (and their) good health.
