id like to see the origional nasa image showing an anomaly like that.

bets on it not existing because if it was something, they would of edited it out.

the uber funny of that is people expecting extra-terrestrial life to look like a human, ie biped, head on top, etc. foolish. don't forget, your brain is an expert at pattern matching, thus anything can look like anything, given the right circumstances.

Its just a rock. When they get closer to it, it'll just turn out to be an unusually shaped rock. Doesn't mean there is like on mars, just that long ranged photograths can resemble anything with enough imagination. I mean, If they found a gorge that looks like a vagina, does that mean there is a huge space faring wang somewhere reading the personal ads, looking for that 'special' planet?

that one. tbh there is better proofs of life on other pictures sent back.

mainly something that over time came from underground and worked its way across a crater. but fucked if i can find the site again.

Forget about the martian on the left, just have a look around the picture, its fantastic!

On the right there is obvious signs of a river bed that large vertical erosion is done but flowing water, not air

You'd have more luck searching for a triangular object since Triangles don't exist in nature.

Very interesting image that, wonder if the US Govt will say "Weather Balloon" or something.

I'm not so sure there's life on mars, but if I had to place money, I'd put it on life being found in the lake under the ice crust of Callisto, one of Jupiter's moons

I also like the fact that the "original" image has been stitched together from what looks like a dozen other smaller photo's, means it's already been photoshoped once at least.

that is to do with the imaging process between nasa and the robot thingy its self.

the image information is sent back via radio signal in bits and is restitched by nasa.

how do you expect to beem an image of 103mb (and thats just compressed size) all the way from mars in one single lump, and still retain its ultra high quality?

sometimes some information is lost, which explains (apparently) why some images are missing bits or just have a black square. imo, that info isnt lost, but nasa didnt include it because it shows something they dont want us to see.

Actually no offence mate, but why in the hell is everyone getting excited over a ball of rock or an image of what could be. Any one communicate with it? no? But then brick walls gave more sense than this picture. Damn, I wish i'd start talking to myself again, I might gain some useful insight over crap like this :(

yeh its funny, but it could just be the brain subconciously matching patterns together.

If life is confirmed on Mars you just know mcDonalds will have a golden arches there long before Nasa manage to set foot on there.
