Funeral went really well, carrying the coffin was awful but nice at the same time.
The humanist guy there even raised a laugh or two with his excellent and soothing talk.
About 150 people were there and giving support so the day went aswell as possibly could be expected. Was quite grey in the morning and during it but 2 minutes after we released the rainbow coloured balloons the skies went blue and the sun came out in force. Quite surreall but nice.
We all feel much better now, it was more of a celebration than anything and tho i was dubious of the humanist approach (not religous at all but i thought a religous funeral may have helped) i was left and the others there totally amazed at the non choreographed effort of it all, no hymns, just music from Paul McCartney (yesterday), eva cassidy (somewhere over the rainbow) and to cap it all off, Suspicious Minds by elvis, the song she was dancing to the night before her untimely death.
We will never forget Bethany, but we now know she is far better off, and every day we will remember her crazy ways more and more.
Oh and thanks for the replies, my entire family (well my side of it) had a read and felt better that even virtual strangers can help your sorrow just for a little bit, my sister was especially amused by the May the force be with her (thanks Shaft ) but they all meant something and for that i am grateful.
