A: Chuck the theory n start again.

B: Make up some shit thats invisible and cant be sensed but conveniently makes the flawed theories maths add up.

The LHC could well end up as an enormous waste of money - one problem is that you cant prove a negative - ie that dark matter is a crock. So they may just ask for even more money to build an even bigger one next time
