/level and autotraining

My /levelled character has started autotraining.

Specifically: my Flex Reaver is gaining a point of slash every level.

I guess it's possible that the reaver mentioned has, after a good night's rest, shaken off the /level tag in her own unique way.

Or is everyone else autotraining now?

Autotrain, even when working correctly, remains one the most f*cked up game mechanics in the history of the genre, but it'd be nice to know what particular brand of stupid is running the autotrain mechanics at the moment. /sigh

A point of slash every level? Hmm that's over and above autotrain...sounds buggered to me.

As far as I know, /levelled characters will autotrain normally provided you don't spend any points in that line.... it's just that the game will automatically take the spec points to get 5 slash and 5 flex (in your case). Past that point, things should continue normally.

Heard of this happening before, that a /levelled char autotrains 1 point every level until at the auto-train minimum, then goes on at 1 every 4.

No idea why it happens though, and not for all chars. Did you do something special in your sleep?

ye and if you use /respec at 40 on flex, you should get the auto points for free. If you don't spec flex til 50 after that, then you'll get all the auto points.

Things that happened at level 24......

Didn't respec anything.

Had trained normally up to that point.

Haven't bought any RAs.

Did take a few months to move to level 25 (where the auto training started).

Made myself some very nifty dark grey SC'd armour.

Did take a trade (alchemy)

Killed one metric asstonne of moor boogeys.

Came to the conclusion (again) that Indigosnake roxxors.

Got 15 RPs in BG1 before remembering that I find the BGs dull.

Most likely a bug in the patch or server maintenance, or just something related to how long it took me to level I reckon.

didnt respec

xped 24-30 in a few hours (df and barrows, no PL)

did get bg medal

spec 1 point in the skill your class autotrains

/respec that skill

and you got autotrain points + the ability to autotrain till 48, but you lack 2 points of course

I'm aware of the /respec abuse method - but that's not what triggered it in this case.

Not a big deal either way I guess.
