Test Version 1.70w Release Notes
Necromancers will no longer be able to purchase the Whirling Dervish realm ability. Necromancers with this ability will have the ability removed in a future patch. This realm ability was removed for the Necromancer class because it did not work with the Necromancer's pet.

Anyone thats been hit by a necros pet after being AF debuffed will notice what a big difference it make, so increasing that By 50% must of seems great except it does work. Once again Necros are once again are being treated as 3rd classs RvRing citizens, because they can't be bothered to fix them they are just removing there abilities.

I wouldnt call a class which, buffed up, is almost immortal against melee damage a third class RvR class...

I have a necro myself and even i admit necro's are severely overpowered against melee classes in RvR. They need nerfing. With the upcoming 15sec purge necro's will be even more overpowered but this time for fg vs fg fights. Whirling dervish is a minor item though and isn't even considered a nerf considering they never truely had it e.g. it was just something in-testing.

You can have some sympathy from me, theyre battering animists even more.

Still, least youre not a bonedancer, their little setup makes them cc immune, wont take melee damage for 90s and boosts their pets to level 70 odd.

Not overpowered at all, nope, no siree.

Whirling dervish only work for chars that cant spec in a weapon. It worked just fine for the Necro but how often do you see a necro swinging his staff on somthing and not using a pet, Whirling dervish only works for chars and not pets. That's why they removed it from the necro.

ohh good its the a really huge nerf to necros... NOT.
i doubt any necro even bothered to buy it.

i would like to know what ability make em immune to melee. and the lvl 70 pet thing is not only BDs, there get it, sms, cabas and chanters can get it too and i think a lvl 70 emerald sim will hit hard as hell to.

What makes them immune to melee is being able to have 95% absorb, was in df on my thane with a RR5 zerker and RR7 SB when we found a RR1 necro slammed it and cast on it got it to about 5% before slam wore off then i started to melee it, necro proceeded to own us all finish the fight on full health. If i can get a host il stick a pic up of my melee damage was:

8dmg 4crit 3dmg-add

edit: that was 1h, my normal 1h damage self buffed (dont have a bb :() is around 220-250+30-50dmg-add

that a necro, but he said that bd could get immune to melee dmg, and if u want to kill a full buffed necro, dont try to melee him :) nuke him instead as u will nuke the pet like it was a lvl blue mob.

agreed! my L42 BD has killed several stealthers in DF unbuffed...and thats just wrong :/ even went so far as to killin a ranger and makin a NS run the opposit direction almost right when they jumped me...imo the heals of the BD pets shud be reduced...might help.

CC immune for 1 minute at RR5, which doesn't include the pets, yeh its nice we got a useful RA unlike our last one, buff our commander for 10con/str, wow!

And as for juggernaught ? high damage pet for 1 minute at a cost of a ton of RPs is one ability i wontbe bothering with..

After spending points on MoM5 and WP2 to keep up with the AoM 5 tanks running about with 80% resists and the heavily expensive power regen RAs

I've always assumed that the only connection between RvR and Necro's was the fact that most of the time there's another character being PL'ed to use in RvR...could be wrong but there you go...

Yes it's stupidly hard to kill a Necro in melee but a piece of cake for most casters. Same is true for BDs they have weaknesses too the difference is that the BDs weakness is that he gets AE mezzed (s)he's in trouble but luckily someone's noticed this so it's errr being fixed?

I don't think they'll be much outcry from the Necro community as long they can still PL and farm will any players of Necros really care what other incidental nerfs/boosts they get...

Necros suffer nerfs from 1.62 onwards - pet range stupidly short - pathing issues can seperate you from your pet in places, the items decay rates making it impossible to get artifacts that last 5 minutes, removing the 6 second unbreakable QC (apart from being CCd) and now removing RAs, whats next?

They have been made severely un-groupfreindly, hated by all including their own realm mates in RvR, and now cant even PvE seriously, without spending all their hard earnt cash on repairs and new items every 20 hours /played.

Another char that will slip off the mortal DAoC coil and join the choir invisible, ppl prefer group freindly to the ultimate soloer anyday.

hmm you have 0 idea how easy bone is kill.
1 archer kill bone easy, can archer kill necro same speed?
1 assasin kill bone easy, how against necro?
1 caster kill bone easy (moc or bolts), buffs rise allso necros magic abs, not so easy even as caster kill necro.

aemezz is one easy way kill bone,
aedott is easy way kill bone,
2 melee chars kill easily bone, need just alott dmg in short time.
archers kill easily,
bolts can 1 shot bone,
stun and fast dead to bone,

necros are allways explaining how easily caster kill them, and say this is reason why ~4 melees cannot kill buffed necro :D
buffs rise abs and this way allso magic resist, tested and true.
dig VN board and you find results.

i have killed bone whit my zerk, so only 1 melee.
i was against necro in DF, fully buffed whit bot what sticked zerk (used even vendo + dots from shammy).
end result -> zerk 20% health, bott 20% and necro died -> self buffs only up whit necro.

I play both level 50 bonedancer and 50 Necro (both solo'd to 50). I'd say both need nerfed but first they have so many issues that need to be sorted first. Pathing for pets, spell lines that aren't viable and unique class bugs like BD pets killing each other, Necro's pet spells not stacking properly at times and my favourite - pets just wandering off even if your not moving :)

Don't see how they can nerf the necro until they start fixing the huge catalog of problems with the class. Sure it's overpowered (in the right circumstances) but surely they're just going to make the class near impossible to play.

Fix a class before you "balance" it please Mythic :(

What are you talking about?

Buffed to hairtips by a 50 enh MotA BB?

Normal necro rvr consist of zzzZZZzzz + /release

The only thing to say about necro is, there is nothing working correctly.

Some Examples?
1. Item decay -> all armor parts decay at the same time, beside that they decay very fast
2. Resists, necro gets vs con yellow higher resist rates then other casters vs con purple
3. for all other pet-casters -> pet and caster are autonom, necro is nothing without pet
4. pet = mob for cc issues
5. RA? if something sound useful for necro, it 100% dont work
6. Line of sight

The decay rate isnt over the top, tests this myself on my necro. Seriously quit bitching about it, we had a year of NO decay at all!

80% resist??
u can max get with resist on items, 50% resist buff and AoM5 get (26+24)*1.28=64%, and u will only see 50% resist buffs in hib grp with a warden and an alb grp with friar (means never), i doubt ull ever see 50% resist in a mid grp due to healer and shaman have other thing to spec in to.

We've run tank debuff groups with a Necromancer in the past </wave to Tilda>, and it's always been a lot of fun... but then I guess any tank would love to be in a group where they can drop any enemy faster than their healer can use an insta... :D

i didn't think AOM transfered over to pet, pet still takes damage as a L44 vs L50 when spells are cast on it (in most cases).

Easy ?? Did they allow archers to use crit shot with rapid fire on moving targets or something ? How can you even die to an archer as a BD, that's completely beyond me.

With healers and lifetap giving over 500 hits back every few seconds, they'd better do massive damage indeed ... God forbid a BD makes use of root or kites tanks of course.

Remember I play a necro and he's actually my fav char in the game (just wish I could move him to midgard!). The decay rate is NOT over the top I repeat NOT! My supp bonedancer gets his stuff whacked shitless too, instead of it being all items at once though it concentrates in a few and woulf virtually destroy them in a few days if I didnt constantly repair them myself.

Get your necro/BD up to LGM Tailor and your wear issues vanish, mine have. It's not perfect but come on it's hardly the end of the world, tanks have had item wear since day one, healer classes rarely have ANY yet I don't see anyone bitching about that..

I'll say it again - they should fix BD/Necro and animist bugs before nerfing any of them in any way :(

lgm tailor is a rather expensive and boring way of removing the decay problem, not everyone is into crafting :\ theres no denying decay isnt over the top, dunno how you can say its not that bad, i can double the ammount of decay on all items compared with my palas sword in less than half the farming time :\ i guess that is mythics PvE nerf idea implemented...

Thanks saved me the trouble of replying :). As I got a BD myself I persoanlly think they hard to kill by certain classes and the point I was making is so are Necro's. I don't think any of wants a class that kill anyone they come across especially on a pvp server for example. Every class has a weakness and no-one should expect to win every 1v1 combat just cos they xxx class. If BDs were as uber as everyone who's never played one seems to think then on RvR servers 7 BDs and a Skald for speed or 7 BDs with Bard/Mincer/Skald would be the norm for any PvP group on a PvP server. Thankfully you still need a variety of different classes to form a good group and long may it continue :)

healerpets heal self 1st, commander next and last bone.
