Went to see this today as critics were raving about it. It's about two people who are lonely and come together to form a friendship. It's a simple story, but well executed. I liked how her being a vampire causes him to have moral dilemma's over their friendship.

I loved the original, hate to sound like a cliché but it doesn't sound or look as nearly as good. I usually don't like the American remakes though Quarantine was a pretty good remake of the Spanish original.

I've seen both, the original is much better. Nice to see Hammer back though.

how come swedish cinema is so popular for yanky remakes lately, they generally balls it up and fail to grasp the atmosphere. Now i'm gonna have to watch both the original and remake to compare. :)

It'll be interesting to see the Hollywood take on the Millennium trilogy with Daniel Craig as Kalle Blomqvist. I like the Swedish version a lot; didn't play too fast and loose with the book (Dragon Tattoo anyway, haven't seen the others yet).

I did wonder whether this was worth seeing, the trailer wasn't the most inspiring in the world. Will give it a chance I think.

Let's see if they manage to nacker up the Millennium trilogy, the Swedish film version worked out pretty well so far, still haven't seen the final one yet though.

edit - dammit DaGaffer, beat me to it. Did notice they missed a lot out of the film from the book though, to be expected I guess with how much is in the books.

Regarding Let Me In anyway, still haven't seen this yet nor the original. I've heard the trailer paints a really shit picture of it though, and it's actually an alright film.

yep the trailer makes it out to be a 2nd rate horror, not a story about an odd relationship.

Aye bang on, with the classic loud noise and sharp movement to make you literally shit your pants, cause that stuff is terrifying!

Yeah!

The cool thing about the original was that is not at all made to be like a horrormovie... however, it was fucking terrifying at times. Mostly due to the dark atmosphere and the straight to point movement. Just the way they capture the dark and miserably 80s Sweden is creepy as fuck.

Haha I think I probably have, although I only saw about 20 minutes of Twighlight before switching it off so can't really say!

With Twighlight it's got that really cheesy emo thing going on, yet Let Me In had a more believeable storyline. I was never bullied or lonely at school, but you could relate with the character.
