old korean mmorpg that used to be fucking great when it was mir 2, then the company that bought the rights released mir 3 and made a complete balls up of it, it's now been re-released with some stability behind it = win

Mir 2 was awesome, mir3 was a really good game as well but only really when played on the private servers.

Is this new link the official hosts?

It's being run by Wemade for the first time. Wemade have always had the rights to Mir 2 & Mir 3 but have leased them out to GameNetwork (and a US provider which i can't remember the name of), both of these companies were shit thought. Now Wemade are running the game themselves and have effectively cut out the 'middle man' so to speak. They're doing a lot better job (as can be seen by the new website compared to the old - although there is a lot of information missing since the game has only been live for just over a week).

The game is or was the most popular MMO in Korea. It's different from different MMOs in that it can be played entirely solo or within groups, and you can pick it up and put it down easily (can log out anywhere in the game if you need an AFK and then log back in when ready for example). There are 4 classes so play about, the warrior is recommended for beginners, but tbh it's a bit dull to play until lvl 32ish, if you are new to the game I would try out a Wizard first as they level a lot quicker and will give you a better feel of the game. The Tao is great as well, but is a bit of a slower leveler.

Nah it's free to play, they have a "WeeShop" where you can buy credits to get items in game, stuff that gives extra states or a bonus to exp for a certain period of time, nothing that makes it a requirement to pay real cash.

Be aware though that there are a few issues since it's only been released for about a week, give it up till at least level 11 to get a good feel for the game.

Levels 1 -7 just kill mobs with your sword and collect loot while doing quests (the quests will usually show you good places to hunt and give good rewards - don't expect a gripping story line however as it's in a shit English translation from korean).
At level 7 go to the bookstore in town and buy your class specific book, for a Wizard it's fireball, and a Taoist it's healing.
Keep an eye on the Accesory merchant to upgrade your gear.
At level 11 you can buy the next tier of armour from the ArmourMerchant in town.

Make sure you constantly upgrade your weapons and stuff. As a wizard you want items that have MC on them (For example a ring with MC 0-1 would give you a higher potential damage cap, and a ring with MC 1-0 would increase your lowest potential damage cap). For a taoist you're looking for SC items to improve your healing and poison, and DC items to improve your sword damage. I've never played an assasin so can't comment, but they look quite fun (but probably not the best char to start the game with).

To auto pickup items, press @ and then the return key, and an interesting thing to do is to check other people's equiment, to do that hold ctrl and right click on someone to bring up their character screen.

The leveling gets really tedious at 35+, its an extremely grind heavy game. The grinding is kinda fun though, theres a boss in each cave which tends to drop a shitload of cash, pots and sometimes some rare items or regular items with boosted stats.

The pvp is fun when you get the hang of it, basically you need to attack the square somebody is in or you think they will be moving to. Think diablo sort of pvp. There are rules though, if you attack somebody who has a white name (Hasnt attacked another player) your name will go brown, when you have a brown name other players can attack you without their name going brown (iirc) if you kill somebody with a white name your name will go yellow, this goes after an amount of time without killing a player. If you continue to kill players when your name is yellow then your name will eventually go red, this means that you will be kill on sight to the town guards and other players can attack and kill you with no repurcusions. You are also liable to drop items from your pack and person if you are killed when you have a red name.

Items are pretty standard the very high level stuff is pretty hard to come by until the servers have been up for a good while. No templates or anything theres only usually 1 set of armour for each class for certain level ranges, usually tends to be a set weapon and jewelries you will use for each level as well. Heres a good website for items:

LoM HQ The Legend Of Mir 3 Resource

That page is the warrior specific armour they use. You can find regular items with boosted stats +AC +DC etc as well which usually sell for a fair bit (AH style NPC in the main city for player auctions) or come in useful. Theres also rare items at higher levels, and some rare item sets which is mostly jewelry.

Not sure what the max level is tbh, people just seem to grind and grind, the leveling gets really slow later on.

Oh, if you're playing make sure you head to BichonTown and go to the Guild Register (next to the castle) and join the legend of mir guild, it'll give you a 30% exp increase during your first 20 levels.

What general direction is that BichonTown from the starter town? (LostParadise).

Also I got these poison bags and the poison skill but can anyone tell me where to put the poison bag into the inventory? as whenever I use the skill it just shows some graphic and I lose mana but the target aint poisoned.

I had a look on youtube and the graphics are so shit. I once tried to play diablo 1 or 2 (about 8 months back) and OMFG it looked horrible. I know graphics are not everything, but the UI, item interaction etc was so primitive it keep me interested in playing.
