Left Axe Wep speed

ive been wondering lately why people insist on using the fastest left hander? ive been trying a mixture of slowest left and slowest main..and it does FAAAR more dmg without impacting on my swing speed..so why do people harp on about using the fastest possible offhand weapon? as far as i can tell you only lose dmg by doing so..whats the benefits of using fast left hander...clearly it doesnt impact on how quickly or how often i hit with both..so why?

Both hands will always swing with LA, unlike CD/DW/H2H, and using slowest mainhand (which does all the damage anyway) and fastest offhand gives a natural haste effect, as you swing at the average of the 2 weapon's speeds. Because LA offhand only does a small percentage of mainhand, you have higher DPS afaik, unless you have a high level haste buff.

aah i didnt realise it was different from DW etc... hmm maybe ill stick to a fast offhander then... thanks.
