This weekend left4dead is £13.50 on steam. Still more than I can afford right now, but may be good for some of you.

13.50gbp = 15.11eur according to xe.com. On steam I can currently buy at "half price" for 22.49eur (=20.10gbp)

Yeah Steam prices in the freaky Euro zone are ridiculous, you get scrwed more than we do compared to yank prices here.

They just go by 1$=1€ on steam as far as I know, which is patently ridiculous.

Steam pricing is a real turn-off for me at the moment. Its particularly galling that it seems to work on IP. I have a (UK) Sterling and a (Irish) Euro bank account but I'm not allowed to pay in pounds. Sucks.

The gift option is the one to go for.

Edit

Of course now Dagaffer can provide us all with a series of googled links as to why the gift idea isn't the best idea, and how it was tried in China in the 1930s and proved that Steam gifts invaded your home and ate you children.

But really, the gift idea may work fine :)

Smartarse.

Gift idea makes sense. I really do need to get a reliable UK proxy sorted out though. This isn't the first time this shit has happened and I doubt it will be the last.
