Well that gets your attention and all is said there as well. Don't go around, in all your uberness, killing off the NPC that give quests... i really hate sitting there for a good 30 mins to wait for some NPC to re-appear just to see some Purple++++(up the wazoo +++) run over, SMACK! and wait another 30 min....then they have the balls to actually bow to me after that...i'm really considering on making a hib just to bash some middies on the ehad for this. Hmpf! They ain't evil...leave them be!

Don't worry too much ... prob just bad luck. But the same goes out to people refusing to group up a sec when waiting for quest spawns I guess.

But, for doing every quest available so far, I must say that people in general have a good respect for quest related spawns and NPC's. Don't let some minor instances get your quest-hunger below zero.

Agree on this one. Gna Faste is a major meeting point for peeps, its also where you can be guaranteed to find Njessie, which is a quest which gives a nice item low/mid-20s. I often see lvl50s smacking Njessie for fun then running around in Gna and I wonder which poor peep has been camping, waiting for Njessie to swim by and is now going to have to sit for a while bored again.

Njessi is also the scourge of level 15 types trying to cross the river, so perhaps the level 50s killing them isn't all bad. One man's burden may be another man's blessing.

Forget the bridge, invest in Mastery of Swimming.

Why Njessie is there and not in the moat around Caer Caledon I'll never know ;)

You know, I heard there will be underwater battle in Shrouded Island... or at least underwater exploration, youll be eating your words when everyone else is swimming around with uber speed cause they invested in level 3 mastery of water... mark my word! :D

I'm in agreement with you here, Aeternus. I figured Shrouded Isles would be very water-based by sheer virtue of the product name. I'll be eating my words and, to add insult to injury, I'll be respeccing if that's the case.

Perhaps I can finally earn the bronze certificate in swimming that my childhood lacked.

until they attack you at very fast speed with their uber mastery of water :D then you one hit kill them because it cost them all their points and you were able to spend them on something usefull :D but at least they'd be able to get away better than you...

Well as far as I was aware you aren't able to go underwater in DAoC (yet?). Presumably this would change but then Mythic have to deal with the problem of holding your breath long enough. If an entire zone is underwater you will need some magical means of preserving your breathing because fighting underwater tends to take it out of you.

Also there is the matter of how certain spells, items and equipment work while you are down there. A fire spec wizard might be somewhat stuck for things to do :) Most other spells won't (or at least shouldn't) work in the usual way.

On top of all of this there is the issue of 3D fighting. Currently DAoC does not have to deal with any three dimensional battles because everyone is mostly on the same plane. You can only be offset by a certain amount which is dictated by the terrain. This may or may not introduce problems that haven't been thought of if people have complete freedom to move about and fight in true 3D like you would underwater (or if there were any flying spells).

If you've ever been into Kedge Keep in EQ you will know that overall fighting underwater is a complete nightmare :) Trying to position yourself against a mob whilst you are sinking or treading water is very hard aside from all of the other things that I have mentioned.
