OK, Strange request, but am gonna try anyway...

Does anyone have laying about an IBM R31 model 2656 laptop hanging around there "I'll put that tio 1 side just incase" pile ?

I had 4 of these. I know 1 had a broken screen. But I can't find it no more, i suspect I've (read missus) thrown it away. Now the other 3 have gone down with what seems to be the same mobo fault. Basicaly all 3 mobo's are dead as a post. So now all 3 minus the Mobo's and some other bits i've managed to miss place over a few years are in a card board box sitting at my feet.

I've scanned Ebay as much as pos, but none of the spares/repairs 1's say the mobo works. don't wanna get 1 home and find the mobo gone in same place and the box of bits get bigger

If you have 1, am sure we can come to sort of trade/sale agreement. have some new XP home licenses ere Don't need power supply, rom unit or even the screen. Hell i even have 3 keyboards

I'm nipping back into work on monday to see if there's any update and to be cheeky & borrow some kit to repair my car stereo with. There's a large pile of thinkpad hardware, although I suspect most of it is T series (40-42). We do have a lot of the R30's and 31s though so will email my work address to remind me to check for you
