Just wondered if anyone else had the same problem as I do...

While my feet aren't particularly long (they're size 7, which is pretty big for a girl, but not huge) they're really really wide, and as such I have real problems buying trainers that fit.

Luckily I can get away with wearing my Vans to work :worthy: but I just can't get a decent pair of trainers for the gym. I've currently got a pair of Nike Pegasus men's trainers in size 7 with the insoles taken out, but they're still too narrow - anyone got any suggestions? I

if you have wide size 7 feet, you should be ok with mens trainers imo.

I have the opposite problem. I'm size 11, but unlike most guys I have very narrow feet...and most shoe manufacturers make length proportional to width...

Edit: ok, ok, that sounded dodgy :)

Im a size 11 in Nike`, 10 and half in everything else Oo

Id go lurk around at the Mens department

Or failing that, go to Clarks and I think they still do trainers to fit

Ditto and god I love my Vans trainers :).

I've found that Reebok were pretty good for gym trainers though (men's that is not girlies). I had a pair of the old basketball style ones for years.

easy solution.
buy two pairs of regular trainers.
remove trainers from boxes.
place feet into boxes an secure using handy elastic bands that held the lids on.

nah im only jokin.
before u go down the road of special made its worth just trying stuff on, the shape of the style varies the fit so much some things come out wider even tho they are not specified wide fit.
eventually shoe retailers will catch on the trouble is that most are still following the patterns from about 50 years ago (average men size 8/9 average ladies 5/6).try clarks if u havent already they sell their footwear in varying widths (trainers included) also if u got a brantano nearby try them - they just increased their ladies size range to run from 2-10 so are starting to think a bit more modern with sizes.
