Hi :)

Work recently gave me an Acer Aspire 5315 with an Intel Celeron processor 560.

Would it be possible for me to upgrade the cpu to a duel core? and where would I purchase a laptop duel core intel cpu from ¿

Just about the only thing you can upgrade in a laptop is the RAM.

They are not designed to be taken apart and tinkered with inside.

You can do it, but it's certainly not entirely easy - people often forget the only difference between some 300 pound laptops and 800 pound laptops later in the range is the ram, processor and case installed, using the same motherboards.
Definitely not easy or for the faint of heart though, that's certain - or if you've a thing about screws ;)
Best place to find a laptop processor will be ebay otherwise parts brokers will charge a fortune. I don't know exactly what processor type is in yours, there are 2 different sockets with 3 pins different although they can look identical other than one being purple and one being beige (the socket itself). If you're not sure, pop the current cpu out and give me the 5 digit intel reference code on it (SL7SA for instance)

Cadelin, The first thing i did was max the ram out. I still would like more cpu power if possible.

Kryten, I've googled some, and as you say it can be done. If i'm brave enough I will try to obtain the reference code, and keep you updated :)

Thanks for the replys
