Lol TDC.
Tried that Moriath.
Thank you.
Now nothing when I turn it on. No power... All dead.
Do you think it's my charger? How do I know whether to get new charger of whether it's the actual laptop?
Eeeek
1. take battery out and don't have the power lead plugged in
2. hold down the power button for 30 seconds
3. release the power button then press it repeatedly for 30 seconds (on off on off etc)
4. hold down the power button for another 30 seconds
5. put battery back in and try again and let us know what happens.
How @russell explained it I had come across it before and it is usually very common on HP laptops from a certain period, they used a shit motherboard and other stuff in them that causes build up of static in and around the power switch etc. Laptop repair shops are ripping people off left, right and centre charging punters for this fix. I can't remember why or how I knew this could work all I can tell you is I don't remember any of my kids birthdays or my wedding anniversary
@Moriath I used to work in a PC repair shop and I have always fiddled (with laptops as well ). People do (rightly) take the piss but if left long enough I can figure most things out but not software, software gives me itchy AIDS. Look at me getting all smug *waits for russ to come back to say it's exploded*
