Help Laptop Hard Drive

I have a laptop caddy case and a new hard drive which i plugged in today. When I connect it to the pc (via usb), it says it can detect the new hard drive. I also checked Device Manager and the hard drive appears.

When I go to My Computer, there is no icon so I cannot access the hard drive...what's all that about?

Have you formatted it yet? If in Disk Manager it shows as un allocated sace you will need to create a new partition and assign it a drive letter before you can use it.

Administrative Tools
Computer Management
Storage
Disk Management
