Interesting regards the beauty and success thing, Jade Richards had her 5 mins of fame, but not seen anything come of it since. She had a great voice but the unfortunately the bod of dump truck and face to match. Personally, as far as music goes I couldn't give a toss what they look like. Adele is no supermodel but Christ can she sing and I would prefer listening to either of these two rather than that barbie doll Lana Del Ray. Her voice lacks depth and feeling, imo

I have a thing against mainstream music, and that thing is twofold: 1) 98% of it is pure dross. 2) it likes to ram itself down my throat if I let it. contrary to popular belief, I'm not partial to being throatraped. I don't mind <insert good generic band here> per se, but I do mind them when they get played 6 times an hour on the radio, have continuous telly time and return in the dance / dub / whatever remix not to mention the sellout advertising scheme.

She is quite a good singer.... imo it's like she has broken out on to the scene a year too early.. not had enough training me thinks.

Some of her live performances are decent.. her performance on graham norton was much better than the SNL one
