Has anybody actually figured how to set up a lan game for Tribes 2? I'm pretty sure that our lan is set up correctly because we can play any other game, except for this one. Please input any advice....

A lan is a local area network... "Tribes 2 Solo and Lan" I can't get a lan game to work..

Yeah I had probs with this too..

It only worked when I manually configured the IPs of the LAN rather than letting Windows assign em...

the 192.168.*.* range worked nicely

dunno if that helps..

When you say 'You where letting Windows assign', what do you mean?

If you don't have a dhcp server on the network to give windows an IP, after a while it will give you a 169.x.x.x . The x's are randomised, the theory being that eventially, all the PCs will have unique IPs and thus work. To tell you the truth, I think the idea is rubbish and should just tell you haven't go an IP.

For static assigning, I always use 10.x.x.x. Its a private range of IP in the class A range.

I'm using internet connection sharing under Win98SE and can play using PC's inside the LAN on the internet or on a LAN server nps. I don't have any other special software or settings.

Tribes 2 lan games only work between machines on the same subnet, and as far as i know only in private address ranges, like 192.168.0.x and 10.x.x.x
